The H.L.A. Foundation is a community built on hope, love, and assurance. We ask that all visitors engage with our website and community in a manner consistent with those values. By using this site, you agree not to:

• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with the foundation, Harryson's family, or any partner organization
• Use the foundation's name, story, or mission for any commercial or unauthorized purpose
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with our website, servers, or networks
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or any systems or networks connected to it
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form or contact channel on this site

Harryson was known for encouraging others and believing every person had something to offer. We carry that spirit forward, and ask all who visit this space to do the same.

Donations & Funds

The H.L.A. Foundation accepts charitable donations to support our mission of combating gun violence and uplifting underserved communities across North Carolina. By making a donation through this website, you agree to the following:

• All donations are made voluntarily in support of the foundation's mission and programs, including the Harryson Lafayette Anderson Scholarship
• Donations are processed securely through Stripe. You represent that you are authorized to use the payment method provided
• All donations are non-refundable unless a verified technical error occurred during processing; if so, please contact us promptly at [email protected]
• The H.L.A. Foundation is a registered non-profit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law. We recommend consulting a tax professional regarding your specific situation
• Donors will not designate where their individual gift is directed; all contributions go toward the foundation's overall mission and programs as determined by foundation leadership
• A donation acknowledgment may be sent to the email address provided at checkout

Every dollar given in Harryson's name goes toward building the world he believed in: one where every person is seen, valued, and supported.

Scholarship Terms

The Harryson Lafayette Anderson Scholarship ($2,500) is awarded annually to a qualifying student at Ascend Leadership Academy beginning with the 2026–2027 school year. By submitting a scholarship application, applicants agree to the following terms:

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant must be an enrolled student at Ascend Leadership Academy
• Applicant must have a cumulative GPA between 2.0 and 3.0
• Applicant must have no disciplinary record during the school year of application
• Applicant must submit a 500-word essay on the topic: "The Impact of Gun Violence: Strategies for Fostering Peace and Safety in the Community"

Application & Award

• Applications are submitted online through the foundation's website
• Scholarship inquiries should be directed to the H.L.A. Foundation at [email protected] or 910-858-8681
• The foundation reserves the right to verify all eligibility information provided in an application
• Submission of false or misleading information will result in immediate disqualification
• The foundation's scholarship decisions are final

This scholarship exists because Harryson believed average students deserved to be seen. It is our honor to make that belief real.

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, photographs, graphics, the HLA Foundation logo, Harryson's story, and the design and layout of each page, is the property of the H.L.A.
